Re: ooma Service Status
Some of you people are way too hard on ooma. I've had network outages on every service I own.
AT&T, Direct TV, banking, DSL, and cell phones.
ooma is basically FREE and the other services aren't.
I've been in situations as an IT where the backbone to the network (owned by telcos) was severed and I had no control over getting it fixed. IT happens.
Give ooma a break.

ooma Service Status
We are in AZ and are still down. As very new users, less than two weeks, we are concerned at the frequency of such outages. Last ooma posting implies things starting to get corrected. Is there an expected time when everyone should have service back?

Re: ooma Service Status
The light was still flashing red and I called the line from my cell to see how ooma responds when the system is down (if it routes to vmail or not) and the weird thing was that it rang and went blue! A power reset 2 minutes ago didn't do the trick. I'm not going to try and explain how it went blue as long as it did. Northern VA is back online! I was scared earlier if this is what happens when the premier trial expires and you don't sign up for premier service but then checked this post and saw there was a mass outage (phew). 3 more months for break even.

I wholeheartedly agree.number9 wrote:I took a gamble with ooma. Even with this outage. I won!
An outage like this could happen to any VOiP service. Give them time to fix it and all will be well. They (ooma) clearly state it is a good idea to keep a basic land line for situations like this. I did not,..LOL
Hello Trac phone
I signed on to Ooma with realistic expectations. All VOIP has less than 100% reliability. If reliability is that important, $50/month for AT&T land line service is still available.
I know it sucks for some people that may depend on it a bit more than I do, but it will happen. Hey, even AT&T wireless which I pay an arm, leg, and first 3 born for is less reliable.
No big deal. They'll fix it when they can.

I second that, Wayne. We're all in the same boat. I know it's inconvenient but I'm sure it'll clear up soon. I'm sure their support lines are overwhelmed right now so let's cool off and cut them some slack.
