Re: Non-functioning HD2 handset
Hi Tom,
My Ooma upgraded to V 126597 yesterday and this morning when I woke up my 4 Telo handsets are stuck on connecting status, do you know what I need to do to fix this?

Re: Non-functioning HD2 handset
Press Menu and select Information. Does HS Version show 126588 ?
Select unregister, then register again.
Try holding down the red hangup key to reboot the HS.

Re: Non-functioning HD2 handset
Sometimes the charging cradle contacts doesn't make contact with the HD2 handset contacts.
When you place the HD2 handset in the charging cradle, you should hear two beeps.
If you don't some people have been able to carefully access the charging cable from the top and see if the metal bars are at the bottom are up, all of the way. Some have said that they have used a bent paper clip to gently move the metal bar up????
But on the other hand, since the HD2 handset is brand new, maybe you should return the handset for a new replacement.

Re: Non-functioning HD2 handset
The contact design of the HD2/base is very poor. Over time the undersized metal contacts become slightly oxidized and a poor connection results/weak battery charging. The basic fix is quite simple, widen slightly the bottom contacts and have these gold flashed. Now U have a wider contact surface and the gold flashing prevents oxidation assuring a higher integrity contact. We recommended these updates to Ooma some time back but never received a response.
In the meantime..
A stop-gap fix is to take a small pencil eraser and wipe down the contacts every few months, be sure to blow out any little residue..
Just my $0.02...
