Can't get to " http://setup.ooma.com/ "

Post by TambourineMan » Mon Oct 29, 2018 2:52 am

I have a brand new Ooma connected directly to my router. I wanted to login to it to check that QOS was enabled. When I put http://setup.ooma.com/ in my browser's URL it says server not found. (The computer is connected to an ethernet port on the router which is plugged into the Ooma.) I I try to go to "reconfigure Ooma" in my cell phone app the only option I see is for wireless. I wanted to reconfigure ethernet, not wireless (while my Ooma is wireless and bluetooth capable I prefer an ethernet connection.

Is your computer wireless capable? If it is you must disable the wireless to force the connection to route through the hard wired connection.

Try this:

http://172.27.35.1

That is the actual IP address of the server inside of the Telo.

I am just getting back to trying this again. I had the Ooma direct connected to my cable modem but just got a new one as we will be reconfiguring our full boat Comcast plan. anyway I took the opportunity to connect the Ooma to one of the ethernet ports on my router.

My desktop had both an ethernet and wifi connection. I put it in airplane mode even though it was not connected wirelessly.

My router says the Ooma address is http://192.168.1.19/ Tying to access both that and http://172.27.35.1/
in my Epic Browser give the following message
ERR_TIMED_OUT

If I try http://setup.ooma.com/
I get
ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED

I also cannot access it in my android Teleo app

The Ooma is working fine. I just want to check the advanced settings. Mostly I want to know whether I am connected to the east coast server.

It will not tell you whether you are on the East Coast server.

Hard wire your computer to the Home jack on the Telo. The web site is inside of the Telo. Connecting to the internet port address of the Telo is possible but it must first be configured by connecting via the Home jack.
