Incoming Calls Not Working

I just setup my new Ooma (first time user). I am able to call out on the phone. I am NOT able to get incoming calls. I tried the Ooma online chat and they reset my device and that did not help. They then told me I need to call tech support. I am using a phone number I picked from the available list (Ii have not ported my # yet). I have tried from two different phones and two different carriers. The message states t "your call cannot be completed at this time, please try again later".
I tried the following:
[1] turned off all call blocking
[2] unplugged the ooma device for 1 minute and plugged back in
Any other settings or steps I should try?

You are in the trial of Premier. Premier provides two phone numbers. Select a second number to see if it works any better.
The last phone company to have your current number may not have properly released it and instead just marked it out of service.

Thank you. That worked. I had to call and have the number changed as the one they assigned was not released yet.
