Unable to Connect HD2 Handset - Stuck at Connecting

I've been trying to pair my new HD2 handset with my TELO base for several days now. Old handset was first gen, as is the TELO base. On first attempt to connect the HD2 I was prompted to enter *#*#302 to upgrade the firmware to accommodate the new handswet which appeared successful.

The new HD2 handset however never shows anything more than "Connecting....".
  • Battery power at full.
    Connection strength to base shows full bars
    Have unregistered and re-registered
    Power cycled the base several times
    Went to far as a Factory reset via *#*#099
Still stuck at connecting. More or less the same issues dealt with in https://www.ooma.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=19650 . As I understand it, OOMA is able to push a fix of sorts to the base to allow the HD2 Handset to connect. Can this be looked into please?

Log into the Telo and check the DECT tab to make sure the HD2 mode is enabled. It may still be in the original mode. If it asks for a pin it is still in original mode. The HD2 mode does not ask for a pin.

I'm set for HD2 mode.

While I was in there I removed the handset device via the UI (rather than from the handset) and attempted to register again. Same status I'm afraid, still hung at Connecting...

Interesting to note that the handset shows with a green checkmark for "status".
