OOMA TELO - Heat Generation?

Post by Rmonio » Sat Jun 01, 2019 8:57 am

Hello - I just installed my OOMA TELO unit and have been testing my setup in the house. So far, so good! I have one question though - the unit seems warm on the bottom... is this normal and should i elevate the unit for heat dissipation?

Thank you for your help and support!

Yes, and if you rarely will touch the unit and have it out of sight, I would recommend flipping it up side down. Reason being is because the Telo's processor is facing down. If you want to go go overboard, remove it from the plastic housing after your warranty is over and place a heat sink on it for those hot summer days :D

But I have yet to hear any complaints if it overheating or dying so it's likely fine as-is.

Thanks. You can always - like the Apple HomePod - put it up on something if you want. Just a simple elevation on the corners for airflow works fine. That is what we ended up doing.

Thanks again.
