HD3 and Second Line

Post by petersw » Wed Jul 03, 2019 4:43 pm

Hi,

I just purchased an HD3 handset, and want it to be linked to my second phone number (I have a premier account with two different numbers).

I can't seem to find any place to do this!

If you have not done so already, you need to add a private account for your second number under Device Preferences. You then would click on the "gear" icon next to your HD3 device to move it to your private account. If you need more info, click on the question mark on the Devices Preferences page and the Phone Numbers Preferences page.

Just a follow up question about your experience.

I understand that you were able to connect your 2nd HD3 handset to your secondary phone number on your account, which is attached a new private number. Just to confirm, this new second line has it's own unique number, voicemail, call blocking settings, etc., is that right?

I am looking to do the same thing, but I have the first generation of the Telo base and HD2 handsets. I've been told that I need to upgrade the new Telo and HD3 handsets, by Ooma support. That's fine. They just were clear as mud about the best way to go about adding a new private line with it's own settings, voicemail, etc.

You can do it with HD2 handsets.
You need to have Premier service to have a second line.
It gets configured in your my.ooma.com account.
