Router QOS bandwidth allocation to Telo

Post by peabody » Tue Aug 27, 2019 5:04 pm

I'll be getting a TP-Link Archer A7 router, and the Telo will go behind it. So I need to set QOS in the router to make sure the Telo is protected. Unfortunately, the "QOS" in this router isn't priority based, but rather just allocates minimum bandwidth by device. Since I only have 30/3 service, I don't want to overallocate bandwidth to the Ooma. Some of the old documentation mentioned 130kbps up for the Telo, but I don't know if that's still good. Does anyone know what the Telo actually uses up and down during a phone call? I have the original Telo, not the new one, if it matters.

And if anyone knows of an equivalent budget router that has priority based QOS, please advise.
