Telo : ooma tunnel connected, but blinking red. SOLVED.
Trying to set up a pre-owned Telo. It's definitely connected to the internet, my account is set up, but the rose is blinking red. Any ideas?
The Telo's Internet jack is connected to my router, and I have a PC connected to the Telo's "Home Network" jack. The PC gets an IP address(172.27.35.107) from the Telo's DHCP server, and can browse the web including my.ooma.com, so the Telo is obviously talking to the Internet.
From http://172.27.35.1/status.lp : "TO INTERNET Port", "HOME NETWORK port", and "OOMA Tunnel" all show as "Connected". Applications are "running", and services are green check marks. However, http://172.27.35.1/home.lp shows:
Internet: Connected
Ooma Network: Not connected - Attempting to connect to the Ooma network
Device Settings: Waiting for Configuration
I set up my ooma account using the activation code on the bottom, got a phone number, and credit card was charged about $5 for a month of fees. The https://my.ooma.com/account/services shows the device with the correct MAC address.
I also did a factory reset ( trash+stop keys, as suggested in another port) with no improvement.
So that's it. I can't think of anything else to try. Ideas?

Where did the preowned Telo come from? It may still exist in the previous owner's account If that is the case you will have to call support to get it straightened out.

I'll check with Ooma tomorrow, but according to https://support.ooma.com/home/reactivat ... ma-device/ the activation page should have rejected the activation code if it's already registered. If fact, if I try to enter the activation code again now that I've already set up my account, it responds with "Device has already been activated..." as I would expect.

Problem solved by Ooma. It's an old device, so needed a firmware upgrade. I sat back and watched the blinkenlights for about 1/2 hour as they pushed the update, including a couple of reboots. Now it works!
Good job by the support team.
