telo blinking red and phone handset has busy signal

installed ooma telo according to instructions
installed cable to one of the 4 ports behind my router box and telephone cable to my phone's base base
Router keeps blinking and my phone has a constant busy signal.
Does the telo have to be configured to my network with the networks password???

No. Keys are only used with wireless.
Did you connect the "To Internet" port to the router?
It won't work if you connected the Home port.

Thanks Murphy, but I dont understand If I connect the Telo to the "to internet Port" of the router how would the router connect to the modem?
I thought the to internet port was for the cat6 cable coming from the modem

The "To Internet" port of the Telo to a LAN port of the router.
My main concern is that the Home port of the Telo not be connected to the router.

I have my Ooma plugged into my router LAN CAT-5, never tried it between my modem & router. Working perfectly for 7 years with numerous updates, power outage, reboots...you name it. Suddenly the last router reboot the Ooma couldn't get over blinking red. I noticed that the Ooma was on a different IP address assigned by my router...what? It has always been reserved but I guess now I have to check it and re-reserve it. Most things have gotten over what local IP address is and the need to reserve it, but not Ooma. Probably something to do with initial setup and that's why they suggest putting it between your modem & router. My router gives voip priority anyway.

If reserving based on MAC address the MAC address of the internet port is 1 higher (in hexadecimal arithmetic) than the MAC address on the bottom of the Telo which is the MAC address of the Home port.

I changed ISPs to a Hughes Net Satellite system and I can't seem to get connected with my Ooma Telo. My Telo is connected to the back of the Hughes Net Modem to LAN port #4 and the Telo is blinking red and blue intermittently and the phone handset has a busy signal. Could it be that somehow I need to reconfigure my Telo to connect with the new modem? I tried the chat and the young lady who I chatted with said I needed to call an 888 number in California. I am physically located in Ecuador, South America where the system has been working just fine until I changed ISP. Can anybody helo me?
