Upgrade hub/scount to telo via the RMA circa 2015

I have a hub/scout that still works fine (for now). I got it about 15 years ago (?) when there was the 'lifetime' deal with now taxes/addon-ons ever (where lifetime is defined as the life of the equipment). At some point (2015?) Ooma offered an upgrade to the Telo to get this old equipment off their network. I took the deal (technically an RMA) and bought a Telo and Linx to put on the shelf until the hub/scout went dead. The promise is that this would keep the lifetime deal and didn't have to be activated immeadiately. I recently had a problem with the scout power supply, which has been fixed but that has prompted me to think about how I would use the Telo/Linx I have sitting on the shelf if the hub or scout did finally bite the dust. Its been so long that I don't recall the procedure. Is it as simple as plugging in the Telo and it will auto-provision? Anything else to do to preserve the original lifetime deal and set-up the second number on the Linx?
