Porting a 2nd number to Ooma ?

Post by firemandude » Sun Aug 08, 2021 11:24 am

Is it possible to port a 2nd number to my Ooma account and use that number specifically with a linx adapter ? How much would it cost to port a 2nd number ?

If you have Premier service you can port in a second number. I've never done it but I assume the cost would be the same as the first port. If you were to later cancel Premier service you would lose the second number if it was not ported out before the cancellation.

This would actually be my third number. I have my main number and I have a 2nd number on premier that I use for a Fax Machine. Want to add a third line connected to a Linx.

You can add a third number but be aware that only two calls can be active at the same time.
The Telo has two channels to the server.
A third call would go to voice mail.
The Linx will use one of the 4 available DECT channels. Your total number of Ooma handsets and Linx adapters can't exceed 4.

That won't be a problem. Only 2 Linx in use now and no HD handsets. The 3rd Linx will be wired into a NID to totally eliminate the outrageously priced copper landline.
Thanks murphy
