Porting Number from DSL to Cable

- My current phone number is provided by AT&T via their DSL service.
- I setup Ooma on my cable internet service (Comcast/Xfinity).
- I'll be canceling AT&T DSL once the number is ported.

Q: Do I still need to contact AT&T for a dry loop before initiating the port since I'll be canceling the DSL service when the port is complete?

I called Ooma support and at first he said yes, I need a dry loop, then he said no, I don't need a dry loop since I'll be canceling the DSL service. I was not left with a warm fuzzy feeling and want to be sure I'm following the proper procedure.
