OOMA Hub light won't turn blue

Post by jthessen12 » Tue Oct 13, 2009 1:53 pm

I just hooked the Ooma hub up for the first time and cannot get the red light to turn blue. I've reset the cable modem, router and Ooma hub several times with no luck. My internet works fine. I called the cable company and had them reset the modem and then reset the Ooma hub and modem again with no luck.

What should I do next to get the blue light to turn on? Thanks in advance.

Cable Modem to Ooma Hub to router to computer. Internet is working fine with this setup.

Try unpluging the Hub, hold down the clear tab, plug it back in and continue to hold the tab for 30 sec. This will reset the Hub and may fix it.

If resetting the hub doesn't work, I'd look at the MAC address real close... Several have reported that the 8's and B's look a lot alike so you may have to re-register with the correct MAC. One other thing you might try is to log into setup.ooma.com and change the MAC address to use the built in MAC and not Automatic.

I tried all your suggestions and the red light keeps flashing. I get the following information on the Home screen of setup.ooma.com

Your ooma Network is Disconnected

Internet: Connected
Ooma Core: Connecting, please wait...

Phone Line: No phone line detected, check the phone line is properly connected.

Ooma Services

Phone Setup: Your phone line is configured for the ooma network
Second Line: Enabled

Voice Mail: Enabled

The only other thing I can think of (don't think this will work since you do have internet access) would be to shut everything off. Plug in the modem, wait 30 sec, then plug in the Ooma. Sorry, can't think of anything else...

Thanks for your help. I had OOMA support change the phone number and then reset the hub and the light finally turned blue. Problem solved. Thanks again.
