Can alternate network ports be defined?

Post by Rod » Tue Jan 06, 2009 1:22 pm

Is it possible to have an Ooma Hub use an alternate set of ports to talk back to the main server?

I believe the ports that are used by default are:
UDP: 514, 1194, 3480, 49000-50000
TCP: 443

Is it possible to configure the Hub to contact the main server on alternate UDP ports?

Thanks,
Rod

There isn't a way to have the Hub use a different set of ports to communicate back to the central network - was there a reason you needed to change the communication ports?

A coworker is being transferred to Dubai (UAE). Through his limited research he believes the country blocks many of the well known VOIP ports. I believe some of the ones that Ooma uses are the same.

Having the ability to use Ooma in the UAE would allow him and his wife to stay in touch with family in the US at a very small fraction of the cost it will be to place international calls, from the UAE back.

Sincerely,
Rod
