Poor internet connection behind Ooma hub

Post by kazec23 » Wed Feb 10, 2010 9:11 pm

I have a WRM2000 Netgear router and recently upgraded to a WRT400N Linksys but connected behind the ooma hub the internet works on my wireless for 15 minutes then gets "low connectivity" and the internet stops working. If i dissconnect and reconnect it usually works for another 15-30 minutes again. Sometimes it requires cycling the router. The netgear router would actually turn itself off occasionally. I have Cable hookup fro US Cable at 9mb.

any thoughts?

Thanks.

Log into the ooma setup page, go to the Network screen, check the radio button for Use built in MAC address, and click update. Once that is done, power cycle your cable modem.

A router that can turn itself off is a candidate for the trash can.

Thanks for the reply, I did that but then the internet stops working completely. I have been weary of my cable provider since i switched to them and i seen somewhere about checking that your dynamic ip is beeing assigned right but i have no idea how to check or if that would cause these issues. My linksys i am using has Qos but the auto setting does not work for ooma and i dont have the knowledge to set it up manually to do a modem>router>ooma setup. Any other ideas would be great i have been fighting this for 2 months.

thanks
