I think they are saying that those jacks will cary a normal dial tone (from the phone port on the hub) but not the HPNA signal from the wall port (which connects to the scout).
Edit: I reread what Niknak was saying and it sounds like he thinks that they should also work for the HPNA signal??

I have no experience with this, but I assume that you would connect one of these to an outlet near your cable or DSL modem and connect an ethernet cable between them and connect another one to an outlet near a phone jack where you want to hook up the ooma hub and the network signal is sent between your modem and ooma hub through the electrical wires in your house.
You would then be able to connect the ooma hub to the home's phone jack.
Seems like a simpler solution is to buy a set of Dect 6.0 phones, but everyone's requirements are different.

Dect 6.0 phones are the latest digital cordless phone technology -

Getting a set of 4 to 6 handsets with a base station and hooking up the base station to the ooma hub will allow you to have multiple phones available throughout your house without any wiring.

Oh, I thought you were meaning something else.
Regardless, at least one phone needs to be near a phone jack even with the Dect 6.0 phones - right?

No, ooma in "standalone" mode only needs a broadband internet connection. Nothing needs to be connected to the wall port of the ooma hub.
You can hook up ooma with nothing more than a broadband modem, ooma hub and 1 phone and everything necessary comes in the ooma box except the modem and the phone.

I also have a DECT phone by ooma with multiple handsets across the house. I don't care where my phonejacks are.

Thanks for the links.
These look to me like they have Ethernet outlets not phone outlets.
From my limited knowledge, the phone "plug" is completely different than an Ethernet "plug".
How would these work to extend the phone line?

I want to make sure I understand this, do you mean:
DECT phone by ooma (meaning phone near Ooma)
OR
DECT phone by ooma (meaning a phone made by Ooma)
When I first read it I assumed the later but then reading it again realized that it may be the former!
