Can't login "Connection error - Unable to connect to server"

I am running Android 4.4.2 and have been using the OOMA app and the Home Security app for the past
several months with no issues at all. For about the last week I can't login to the OOMA app any more. When
I try to login i get the error: "Connection error - Unable to connect to server. Please try again later"

I get the same error whenever I open the OOMA Home Security app also.

For PCI compliance reasons we had to discontinue support of TLS 1.0. Android 4.x does not support TLS 1.1 or 1.2 natively. We will be making available versions of the apps that include support for TLS 1.2 on Android 4.4+ but these will not be officially supported. The preferred solution therefore is to upgrade your Android device to 5.1 or higher.

A fix is available for the Ooma mobile (v5.05) and office (v2.1.3) apps on the Google Play store if you select the 'Become a Beta Tester' option. A fix for the Home Security app is in QA.

Thanks for the information. I've updated to the Beta of Ooma mobile and its working fine. I have also updated the Home Security app and its working as well.

I get the same ERROR .
do you need a Telo to use the App?

Connected briefly...then got: "unfortunately, Ooma has stopped"

I guess the app is not quite ready yet... Reviews on Google (play-store) don't give it a good score overall (2.5 out of 5)

Hi allo - which version of the app do you have?
Also, what version of Android OS your device is running on?

Ooma Home Security is working fine now on my Android phones running the Kit Kat OS. Thanks a bunch!!

I've had this problem and I fixed it on my Android cell phone by changing one setting in 'Settings' -> 'Data Usage' -> 'Mobile Data Usage' -> 'Home Security' -> 'DataUsage disabled' = off (same as Wi-Fi disabled = off). :P
