iOS: Something went wrong, only on LTE

Post by AllanMarcus » Tue Feb 23, 2021 7:41 am

On my wife's iPhone, when I try to use the Ooma app on LTE, I get 'Something went wrong: The internet connection appears to be offline". When I switch to WiFi, it works fine. Support says I need to unblock various ports, but I have no firewall, parental controls, or content blockers on the iPhone. The only place ports could be blocked are with VerizonWireless. Also, when I use the phone as a hotspot, my phone can connect to my wife's phone and on my phone the Ooma app works fine. This implies to me that the ports are open for my wife's phone.

Any ideas? Support just keeps insisting I open the ports, like I own the phone company! Yes, I contact Verizon, and they said there are no special blocks on my wife's phone.

I also deleted the app, rebooted the phone, and reinstalled the app. We know the App works, because it works fine on WiFi. I just doesn't work on LTE.

Any help is appreciated.

Enable data usage over the cellphone network. You appear to be set to only allow data over WiFi.

That's was it! Friggin' ooma support. How could they not have me check that!
Thanks.
