Sensor Disconnect problems

Post by vaughnsimon » Thu Aug 17, 2017 9:00 am

I just got my demo home security package installed this weekend (New Telo, three sensors).

I have a door sensor that disconnects after about one day of use. I installed fresh batteries (even though the batteries that came with the unit checked good) yet the problem remains. This is the closest sensor to the Telo (about ten feet) so it shouldn't be a range problem. What do I do now? Is there anything else I can check?

you mean the batteries drain in one day or does pairing the sensor again resolve the issue?

I found the batteries dead. Replacing them made the sensor reconnect immediately. So it seems that the sensor is draining the batteries.

And since then it's operated longer than a day? If not then the sensor needs to be RMA-ed for analysis.

That sensor ran for about two days before disconnecting again. That's three sets of batteries it has eaten, including those shipped with it.

Your sensor must be defective. After recent software updates my sensors are running fine. One sensor that has been online for six weeks still has 1.55v per battery. This sensor is on an often-opened door.
