Off Mode

Post by thomasm » Tue Jun 05, 2018 2:36 pm

What is the purpose of the "off" mode (which can't be deleted)?

Why would anyone want to completely disable home security which is apparently what this does by turning off all reporting for all sensors?

At least let us delete this silly clutter if we don't want it.

I can see the OFF mode as being pretty useful if you are having a lot of traffic through the protected area such as during an open house or large gathering with both inside and outside activity. Why fill up the logs with messages you don't really care about if you can easily disable them with the OFF mode?

All activity adds to the log file whether notification is turned on or not. They appear in black if notification is off and red if it's on.

I hadn't used the OFF mode yet and didn't realize that thomasm - so if that's the case, then you're right. What good is the OFF mode and how do we eliminate it or ever prevent it from being used?

It's a rare event indeed when a suggestion made by users is actually incorporated in the app. I'll be amazed if the "off" mode disappears.
