Handset announce?

Handset announce?

On the HD3 under the home security menu there is a choice called "handset announce". Changing this seems to do nothing. What is it and what does it do?

the handset will announce 'door open' etc. just like the telo does (if enabled)

Amazing-it actually does work! Why doesn't the "speaker volume" setting apply to home security announcements?
