New At&T fiber along with new Ooma Telo. Alarm problem.

Post by 6504075434 » Thu Dec 26, 2024 7:13 pm

My analog DSC alarm system is not working with the Ooma. I just moved to AT&T Fiber and got an Ooma Telo. I get a dial tone and my Ooma preferences is set to alarm. I know a call is going out but it is not connecting with the alarm monitoring company. My alarm company wants me to upgrade to an internet connection. Is there a way to make this work with the existing equipment and service?

Please don't double-post.

Alarm systems configured to use an analog (POTS) connection often don't work well with VoIP. Inserting one of the Ooma star codes such as "*99" or "*98" before the outgoing number may help, when auto-dialing the alarm company. However, Ooma recommends using a separate (non-VoIP) landline for this, instead.
