Ooma Customer Service is crap. They want me to hook up a computer to my ooma and run some test before they will even do anything. Plus it sounded like I got a call center with 100 other people in the room. The background noise was so loud I could barely even hear the girl.

And Tom, they think you are toast.

Since Tom is not a paid employee, they don't care what he says, but these are level 1 people who barely know how to read what is on their screen.

Who says Tom is not Ooma employee? Tell them that Tom is forum moderator?

After I calmed down a bit, I did call back and got a much nicer customer service rep. He just had me do a few speed and ping tests to verify my service and then he reset that dialtone service code. The delay seems to be gone on outgoing calls, not sure about incoming yet. Will have to try that tomorrow.

The 1st customer service person is the one who said, "Well, Tom is not a paid Ooma employee..." So I got pissed and said I'd call back when I had time to hook up my laptop to my telo. And wouldn't you know, the second CS guy didn't even want me to do that.

Update, seems that outgoing calls connect fine, no delay, but there is a delay on incoming calls. They either hear ---lo? Or I have to say hello twice. That, I can live with.

You currently have alarm mode set on the phone port. This is ok to try for a few days to see if it makes a difference, but as mentioned above it will only work for outbound calls and blocks voicemail navigation. Therefore longer term the recommendation is to undo alarm mode (unless needed for an alarm panel) and then call support to set G.711 in the dialtone service. I went ahead and did that on your account.

Tom, are you saying you went into my account and then turned alarm mode off? I remember turning it on, but thought I had also turned it off, but maybe not. And are you also saying that you set the G.711 in the dialtone service?

Can you set G711 on my account? I have gobs of bandwidth and QoS is setup for my Telo.
