From now on please ask support to set RTP_USE_ULAW to 1 in the Info service under Services.

As a recent convert to Ooma, the call delay is really my only point of frustration. Tom B, would you mind enabling whatever I need to eliminate this delay, please? Does it mean enabling the alternate codec? I am on cable.

I'm in the same boat, I've been using Ooma for almost two years now and it's great, but the delay is killing me. It is generally much better when I do *98 before making a call, but that doesn't help with incoming calls, it seems. Is this really the best place to request the codec be switched to G711 on my account or should I be going through tech support first?

Hello Tom,

I called Support and directed them to this forum post. After a number of times trying to explain what I was trying to get accomplished, the phone support person said that they changed the QOS.

Is that the equivalent to what you denoted in your post quoted above?

Thanks,

Joe
