So ooma just issued me an RMA for replacement of all three of my HD2 handsets because of this problem.. they said I have a bad batch.. thing is.. it seems like reading through this thread the problem was fixed through firmware.. well I think it might have come back.. cause all three of my handsets have the exact problem described in this thread

HS version:142390
RFP version:154512
Rev D firmware.

The Ooma HD2 is the only full-feature, cordless phone model currently available from Ooma. The other cordless models are the Safety Phone and the wireless headset. l use Panasonic instead.

So looking over old release notes on old updates for the telo 2... I really think someone needs to look over this problem again because it appears its creeping back up.

Fix issue where certain HD2 Handsets have garbled audio in speaker mode [28302] ----- All three of my OOMA HD2's have this problem and I'm told everything is on the latest firmware... if I mute the sound while on speaker its clear, or if I'm just using the ear piece its clear but through the speaker with the mic unmuted everything sounds like its garbled.

I just received all three of my RMA Telo HD2 handsets but as I was afraid of the problem is still there on speaker phone only... you can hear the problem greatly when you call 1-800 numbers with automated systems its very garbled.. I'm afraid to call support again they probably will just send me another handset

At this point, it might be easier to plug a Panasonic base station into your Telo, and use Panasonic handsets. My Panasonic system has no trouble producing clear audio when the speakerphone is turned up, I can send my contacts automatically from my cell phone to it using Bluetooth, and it even announces the caller's name.

yes I love the panasonic phones, but I would like to use the HD2's since it integrates fully with the OOMA system.. its just the garbled speaker phone problem is really bad I would think they would be working on fixing this :|

So... not to open up something ancient.. But honestly it seems as if this problem is as new as the post I'm about to type.. Today I contacted OOMA because I am having the garbled audio in speaker mode on a purchase of 4 OOMA HD2's that I just made in 2018 in the month of august on Amazon.com.. They all have the REV D firmware. They do not have some new fix that seems to be mentioned in this thread... so between this & the abysmal HD3 performance that actually made me downgrade hardware . I am just really hoping that someone can explain or put out a solution for why your old hardware is still suffering problem that seems to be over a year old.
