East coast server

Post by timko » Mon Mar 13, 2017 12:01 pm

I have had Ooma for a few years, and have always had a large delay.

I am in Saskatoon, SK, Canada. Would the east coast server be better for me? Can I be switched to it to try it out?

What are the IP addresses of the west and east coast servers? If I had that I could do a ping test to determine which is better for me.

I'm not sure which server I'm on...EC or WC? I live in NC...For the last few weeks, there has been a noted degradation in the call quality. I used to have a delay and OK quality, but during the last couple of weeks, the call quality has been really poor. The calls are garbled and constantly cuts out. Today, after a call to Utah, my wife says if that's the quality of call we can continue to have with OOma, get rid of the box and we will switch to cell phones only... :| Help!

I have noticed poor outbound call quality over the last few weeks. Been playing with the upload QOS in the Ooma telo this evening and nothing seems to help. I'm on TWC and my down and up speeds are good, but sometimes the uploads are sporatic. Sometimes 2.5Mbps, sometimes .8Mbps. But usually over 1Mbps.

Wondering which Ooma server I might be connecting to and if a change to East Coast (if I'm not on it already) might help.

TIA

Tom B;

It took 3 tries to make 1 important call last night. This really seems like a joke, except when you are unable to communicate with your boss, and Allen Funt never opens the door, hands you $20.00 and laughs hysterically.

First 2 calls, I heard nothing after I dialed, hung up after waiting for some kind of sign of life.

Third call finally went thru normal, and I kept them talking for several minutes. They said all sounded good from their end.

East Coast server, please.

I live in Ontario, Canada and want to know if I am on the West Coast or East Coast server. I would like to be on the East Coast server.
