Call quality

I need help. I am not very tech savvy! Got the ooma installed yesterday. Although it works, there is hesitation between when people speak. Like if I say hello it takes a few seconds before I hear a response. Is there a way to fix this that someone could explain to me in simple terms?

Are you, by chance, using satellite internet?
I don't mind getting old, but my body is taking it badly
