Checking Ooma servers, pings, latency, etc.

Post by boonebytes » Sat Aug 31, 2019 2:21 am

Hi!

New customer. Few questions:

1. Can I see what Ooma server I’m currently configured to use?

2. What are the addresses of each Ooma server? I’d like to run a ping, tracert, etc. to see if I’m using the best one for me.

3. I just tried calling a local number from my cell phone using the app on home wifi, and received some poor call warnings plus a noticeable, audible long latency. Also missed the final blurb of the call (“your order has been received successfully, goodbye”, call disconnect; instead call remained connected and quiet). Repeated the call from Ooma directly, and no significant issues. Both calls were on muted speakerphones. Is the phone making a longer trip on the internet to make the call? Are the DTMF tones in the call affecting the call quality?

Thanks for any help you can provide!
