Comparative voice quality: desk phones, HD3... ?

Post by j0293 » Wed Jul 08, 2020 5:47 am

Is there any information on the comparative voice quality of:
Desk phone DP1 (sold by Ooma)
Lynx + a high quality corded desk phone (Panasonic would be my first choice).
HD2
HD3

My only direct knowledge is that:
HD3 is a lot better than HD2.
A wired connection from the Telo to an old desk telephone is better than HD2.

If the DP1 desk phone has a good handset and works well in speaker phone mode, it would be ideal for my Ooma second line. Any comments?
Thanks.

At this point I've given up on the HD3s other than the caller ID and send to voicemail button functions (great for spam). I really wanted them to work. My old Panasonic cordless phones are solid without people complaining they can't hear me.

Have you tried plugging your Panasonic into the Telo to see if that made a difference? I too am having the same problem. I went from Panasonic phones that worked great.
