Breaking up

Post by 8283498921 » Fri Jun 30, 2023 12:19 pm

Ooma hardwired to Starlink.
Worked fine for first two weeks then started to randomly break up for anywhere from 10 seconds to over a minute. Driving us crazy...can hardly use the phone to maintain a conversation.

Please help

According to Ooma, some areas may not have enough satellites to maintain a constant internet connection. Use the Starlink app to track connectivity statistics, and measure speed, latency, dish obstructions, etc. Also check the Telo stats, (Tools -> Call Statistics), for high latency/jitter, lost packets, or other issues.

Satellite already has higher latency, and is vulnerable to network congestion, including from nearby users, especially during peak hours (around 6pm to 11pm), and to poor weather conditions, such as heavy rain or snow. Wi-fi can further reduce performance, so use a wired ethernet connection where possible.
