Very Heavy echo and very poor voice quality

Post by girimurthy » Fri Dec 12, 2008 5:10 pm

I am a new user for Ooma. My config is like this modem --- ooma --- router.

It is working fine for some numbers. Way so good quality and awesome connection.

But when we call one person in chicago who has vonage there is very very heavy echo.

Another person who we call always complains about very bad quality. They are not able to hear us at all but the line is fine on our end.

It is like this for these two numbers alone every time we call. Is there anything wrong in my setup?

go to setup.ooma.com and check your Quality of Service Upstream speed. set it to some value slightly below your uplink speed based on http://www.speedtest.net speed test.

that might help, but it also might be something with the link to Vonage that you can't control.
Thanks,
- Steve

My upload speed is 2.46 Mbps. So even at 1 Mbps upload stream the echo comes.

And also it is always for the same number. So far only those two numbers are the one having issues other calls are good
