QoS (Quality of Service) settings not sticking.

Post by Clifftr » Wed Jul 09, 2008 12:46 pm

Chatted with Dante in Technical Support this afternoon because my new QoS settings weren't sticking after clicking the Update button. He asked which browser I was using, (IE7), and suggested:
[1] Use Firefox - (because of issues with IE7)
[2] Enter the new settings
[3] Click the Update button
[4] Reboot the ooma hub.
Before downloading the Firefox browser, I thought I would try everything as before using IE7, but this time reboot the ooma hub after clicking the Update button. It worked!
So I'm suggesting that the last line of the article in ooma Knowledgebase 261402 : Configuring quality of service (QoS) be changed to read:
"After typing in the value be sure to click the Update button to save the changes, then reboot the ooma hub."

Hi Clifftr,

Thanks for sharing this tip. This might be a software bug, since the QoS settings should take effect immediately without a reboot. I'll do some testing on this with IE7.
