Call Quality

Hello,

My mom was saying my aunt was trying to call and she couldn't she called twice in a row and it was really bad quality and she could hear music in the background. I am going to assume it was the ooma tone noise thing. Anyways here is my test. I have comcast 6 MB speed and am running from my modem to my ooma Telo to my Router. I am running Uniden 6.0 DECT phones and it goes straight from the phone to the Telo. Here are my rest results and was wondering what I could do if anything to make quality better. I mean it's not always bad but sometimes it is and according to this test I think that this (Jitter: you --> server: 19.2 ms) probably is a bad thing that it's this high but I really don't know what all that means but I think 19.2 ms is not good. Anyways any opinions on what I could do would be greatly appreciated. Thanks also just ask if you need any more info. Also I switched from T-Mobile@home so I didn't switch from a landline but before we had the T-mobile@home we did have Qwest and that was Landline. also all of my Ethernet cables are Cat5E whether or not that makes a difference. Also the Ethernet cable running from my Router to my Telo is like 3 ft long so it's pretty short. then from my modem to my telo I am using the cable that came with my Telo when I bought it so I think that ones like 7 or 10 ft.

Well I just did another test this time I paused my Utorrent and even though nothing was downloading nor nothing was uploading my tests were much better. so do you think that it was because of the utorrent and if so is there something I can do so that they don't conflict.

You can't run a valid connection test if anything else is using the connection at the same time.

As a router/switch, the Ooma Telo sucks! If your router supports QoS, I would strongly recommend that you configure the Telo after the router and use the router’s QoS to prioritize the Telo’s traffic before any other.
