All standard cordless phones that we know of compress the voice signal from 64k to 32k (one DECT channel) when it is sent over the air so they actually sound slightly worse than a corded phone. This also means that they will not pass anything higher than 4kHz. To do HD Voice over DECT, you have to use 2 timeslots so you can run G722 (which operates at 64k) over the air. We do that in a proprietary way on our handsets because DECT doesn't have the provisions to do so in a standard manner.
We raided a few local retail stores for corded phones and tested them to see if they were HD Voice compatible. Here are a few that tested OK:
AT&T 210
AT&T 983
AT&T 993
AT&T TR1909
AT&T CL2909
AT&T CL2939
Panasonic KX-TS105(W or B)
Panasonic KX-TS208(W or B)
Panasonic KX-TS3282(W or B)
RCA 25201RE1
Uniden CEZ200
Uniden CEZ260
Uniden 1100
Uniden 1260
Uniden 1360
Uniden 3162
The answer is no. Need to connect to Telo's "phone" port. Connecting to Linx, you get about the same quality as Hub's "phone" port.oomamaniacal wrote:Would I get the same HD voice quality with these phones if connected to a Linx instead of the Telo's phone port?

My want was pretty simple: good quality speaker phone with good enough caller ID screen and AC powered (instead of just battery so buttons light up and LCD backlit etc). If HD compatible, that much better. AT&T 993 was an excellent fit. I found it new on eBay for cheap (roughly $50+ including shipping). If you walk into Staples or some place like that, they have newer AT&T model desk phones like AT&T ML17939 (not HD compatible).
