We can't call our propane company's toll free 888 number. We get an error "..number that is not available from your calling area 066p"

Any thoughts on what's wrong? I can call the number with no problem from my verizon wireless phone.

Did you try dialing 1-888-xxx-xxxx?

It seems like the problem is with your Propane Company. I do have a toll-free number and I can filter from where I can receive calls on that number by defining specific area codes. For example I have set up to receive calls on my toll-free numbers from area codes 732,908,and 609. All my local or surrounding area codes. So I am assuming that your Ooma device having an area code that is not supported by your propane company.

So the fix for this problem, If this is really the problem, would be to change the Ooma home number to fit into the local phone area of the propane company? Makes sense.

"I can call the number with no problem from my verizon wireless phone."

What Puzzles me is why the propane company can be reached by the verison wireless phone? Unless the Verizon phone number is in the local phone area of the propane comany.

Perhaps, the Ooma number and the Verizon Wireless number have different area codes?

Exactly, that could be one of the reason. Another possible solution is to call the propane company and let them know that calls not going thru the particular area code/phone number assigned to Ooma.

 Since calls with ooma are "free", and I'll bet the propane company also has a local number, the easiest solution might be to just use the local number.

But yeah, it's still perplexing. I'm curious too if your ooma number and Verizon number are the same area code? Or, maybe you have caller ID blocked on ooma (preferences --> privacy settings) and the propane company is rejecting anonymous calls and providing a confusing message?
