Cannot Receive Incoming Calls

I setup my Ooma system 2.5 weeks ago and everything worked fine. My configuration consists of:
- ATT Uverse router
- Ooma Telo connected to router from it's Internet port
- PC connected to router

After a certain point of time (i.e., we noticed voicemails but didn't think we were missing calls) we stopped receiving inbound calls. Whenever the Ooma number is dialed, it goes immediately to voicemail (my number isn't blocked and that feature is not turned on). The voicemails are immediately available on the Ooma system for listening (the play icon was flashing before I could get out of my chair to see if it worked ;-)). I have no problems with outgoing calls.

My Telo doesn't have any red colors (just the good blue and voicemail available orange). I changed my setup to have my PC connect through the Telo to connect to setup.ooma.com, but nothing there looks bad. I've submitted a ticket to Ooma support (online), but it's been ~12 hours and I'm impatient to wait for the full 24 hours. :) Any troubleshooting would be appreciated. My firmware version is 45073.

Thanks in advance,
--Eric

Power cycle the Telo.
If that doesn't work push and hold the envelope key until it says "Do not disturb on".
Release the key and then push and hold it again until it says "Do not disturb off".
Did that work?

Murphy,

Thanks for the newbie help. Already did power cycling (discovered the problem moving the Telo's location), but didn't realize that button functionality. After holding it down, it turned it _off_! Wish I had known about that sooner! :-) Thanks again.

these post have helped me also, so I didn't have to ask the question. One thing that I did notice that might be of help to others is that I didn't get the musical dial tone. I got a beep beep beep then dial tone. After holding the envelope button as described the normal dial tone resumed.
Thanks for the help.
Hope I have been of some help also. :D

By the way, if you have the OOMA handset, its very easy to turn "Do Not Disturb" on using the same envelope button if you hold it down beyond a momentary press of the button. Fortunately on the handset it provides a message that "DND is enabled" whenever it gets turned on, purposely or accidentally.

Dual purpose buttons like this enevelope button ("Voice Mail" or "Do Not Disturb") can be problematic until you get used to the User inferface.

I have tryed all of the above and my Telo does not ring. Incoming calls go directly to voicemail. This happens with both my Telo Handset and hardwired phone.

When you pickup the Telo Handset or hardwired phone and push Talk, do you get the Ooma musical dial tone?

Have you tried (cycling), pressing the envelope button, on the face of the Ooma Telo, until it turns yellow, then pressing the envelope button again until it turns blue? Pickup a phone and make sure you get the Ooma Musical Dial tone.
Call yourself with cell phone or have some one call you for test.

Powering off the Ooma device for 15 minutes and then bringing it back online gives enough time for the VPN profile to reinitialize on the Ooma server-side. Have you tried (rebooting) removing power from the Ooma Telo, then restoring power to the Ooma Telo?
Call yourself with cell phone or have some one call you for test.

Have you tried disconnecting the hardwired phone from the Ooma Telo phone port and only use the Ooma Telo handset?
Call yourself with cell phone or have some one call you for test.

I am having a similar problem to the original post, but it does not effect all incoming calls. Since setting up my system and porting my old number I have been unable to receive calls from many friends and family members, but not all. The calls do not go to voicemail. The caller reports that the phone just rings and rings. No call info shows up on the dashboard of my Ooma either.
Any suggestions?

I will attempt to cycle and hope for the best.

Because the calls don't go to voicemail, it sounds like your phone number is still listed somewhere in your old phone provider's data bases.

Do the people that are calling, have the same phone provider as you used to have?

If the caller has the same phone provider as you used to have, when the call is routed to your phone number, it may be really being routed to your old phone provider, because the phone number is still listed in their databases.

You should contact Ooma Customer Support and get them working on this problem:

Email: support@oomacare.com
Phone: 1-888-711-OOMA (6662)

Saturday-Sunday 8am-5pm PST

Also you could have the people that call you and can't get through, call their phone provider and put a complaint that they can't get through to your phone number, only get a busy signal.

I get busy signal when I try calling from a work or other landline phone to my telo. I can call from my cell phone though and it goes through. Any body have any suggestions? I am running it wireless if that makes a difference. Can't see that it would since I can get through on my cell. Thanks!
