How do you disable the Ooma dial tone? There are references to screens that no longer exist in My Ooma's website. I just want to hear the normal dial tone. I have the Telo with no Telo handset.

Ooma signature dialtone is not a configurable option at this point. Music to ears for a lot of us.

Agree!

POTS dial tone = $68 / mo :x
Ooma dial tone = $3.47/mo

One thing to add - you don't have to wait for the ooma music to morph into a dialtone. I often pick up my handset and begin dialing immediately without a problem.

Documentation shows that it was an option at one point but now is gone. Here is my request to bring it back.

Older users of Ooma were able to disable it and it is still disabled for them.

It has never been possible to disable the Ooma dial tone.
There used to be a connection tone that played when the called party answered the phone. There was an entry to disable the connection tone. The connection tone played havoc with voice mail systems. They finally got rid of the connection tone completely.

I'm not sure what you are trying to say.
The first post talks about the connection tone, not the dial tone.
The second post is flat out wrong. The example box even says connection tone.

I am just trying to do what others have been doing for almost 2 years. Sorry I asked.

Perhaps you are confusing "dial tone" and "connection tone". They are not one and the same. I have been on Ooma for almost three years and have never had the option to disable the Ooma "dial" tone. As Murph said in his response, Ooma did away with the "connection" tone a while back. I like the Ooma dial tone! Everytime I hear it, it sounds like money being saved to my ears! :D
