Day 2 of problem.
Verified that I have 10-digit dialing enabled and tried without the "1-" - same result
Left Ooma Telo off for 1 hour this morning and repowered - same result

No word from anyone in tech support - and I have conference calls today where I now am using my cellphone

This is unbelievably frustrating and unacceptable - what is my recourse since we are have already spent the up-front costs?

I will give it a normal workday or 2, but then begin escalating

What is one of the 8xx number that you are trying to call and can't reach? Maybe some of us can call that number and see if we can get through, and if successful, we will report back. Then you can tell Ooma Customer Support that all of these other Ooma phone system coustomers can get through to this number, only you can't. Of coarse if we are out of the area that the 8xx number covers, will won't be able to get through. But we could verify that by calling with a cell phone. It seems like if a cell phone call goes through but an Ooma call doesn't go through, than it is an Ooma problem?

Sure thing

One that matters to me is 1-866-398-8304 (this is a efax receiver so you should get a high pitched fax tone)

But try some others - like United Airlines reservations 1-800-241-6522 (you should get no ring - just automated "Thank you for calling United Airlines")

And finally Southwest Airlines 1-800-435-9792

All of those work with both my cellphones, they both are national toll-free numbers and work REGARDLESS of where you are in the United States(!!)

Those are 3 good ones...

Here are some numbers I have tried
(800) 444-4444 - MCI
(800) 266-2278 - comcast
(888) 711-6662 - ooma
(866) 452-6662 - ooma
(800) 432-1359 - frontier air
(800) 222-1811 - usps
For me it's pretty much any 800 number I dial, I can't get any of them, just fast busy signals.

I call all numbers, in both posts, and all went through.

(866) 452-6662 - ooma didn't dial the first time I dialed. I dialed the number serveral times after the first dial, and each time it went right through.

I dialed two ways. The first was to enter the number, then press Talk on the phone. The other way was to press talk and then enter the number. Both ways worked, but if I pressed talk first, the process was much slower for some reason?

I also dialed some of the numbers with out the 1 in front, (I have ten digit dialing enabled), and that worked fine also.

So one Ooma caller can call 8xx number without problems.

One last idea?
I wonder if you would use a completely different phone, like a corded phone, if that would make a difference?

I have tried it from corded and cordless phones with the same result. I left one of the hubs unplugged overnight again to see if that would make any difference and it didn't. All out of ideas and I haven't received a response from support since I let them know that I actually needed them to read my email.
My biggest issue, which would be a shock to some, is that the Oomas are my only phone. I don't own a cellphone for a whole host of reasons so I am only able to make the calls I need to make by way of using google voice. If google decides to extend their free US calling, I will be buying an ObiHai device so that when Ooma fails again, I have a easier work around. Because of cost, I've been telling everyone to go with ObiHai anyway since they have responsive customer service. Now with this situation I feel like I need to transition over too.

This is in my mind *clearly* a call-routing issue that has nothing to do with interface on my end
Amazing that only 2 of us are reporting this on this board....

I just dialed some of those numbers in the last few posts: UPS, SouthWest, ComCast, one of the Ooma numberss. All got through quite normally.

I tried the numbers from my Ooma hub. I got a fast busy on all the numbers, except that I can call the (888) 711-6662 Ooma number. All the other toll free numbers that I tried failed, too. Calls to other numbers are working. Now there are three of us. I hope that the problem gets fixed soon.
