Using my Panasonic voicemail

Is it possible to use my Panasonic telephone voicemail rather than re-subscribe to Premier Service? Whenever I play back Panasonic voicemail, I hear an annoying echo; then when caller hangs up, an annoying Oooma dial tone for about 5 seconds. When I called Panasonic tech support, they said I should install a voice filter adapter due to interference. I told them I have the phone line going directly into the Ooma (they don't know what Ooma is), and not a landline wall set-up, so I don't know if an adaptor is possible.

Second question: should "Tone Detect" be on or off? And do I need to input a VM Access number into the Panasonic?

Thank you :)

Hi, I am using the Panasonic KX series with no problems. If you want the call to go to the Panasonic, set the ring number on my.ooma.com to the highest number (I think it is 55 seconds) and the Panasonic will answer if you have that feature turned on.

Now, if you are getting an echo, I am not sure why because I don't have that issue. I hope someone else can help there.
I wonder if you are getting feedback from the OOMA Telo box and if you move it away from the Panasonic, maybe that would help? What I mean is that the Panasonic may be getting voice over the OOMA speaker and then recording that voice. That MAY cause an echo.

I do have the OOMA tone at the end of calls, but that is not a big deal for me. I also don't have Tone Detect on.

You don't need to put a VM access because that feature is for voicemail that is set up on another number. For example, most land-line services that offer Voicemail have a separate code that you dial to reach the voicemail system. That is what the VM feature is for.

Rebooting the Modem, Router and Ooma device will some times help with echo.

But I found that if I turn down my Panasonic phone(s) volume just slightly, the echo will stay away.
