Now this is getting plum interesting. Works for some and not for others looks grim for a resolution anytime soon  I did try the power down/up move and using my secondary number with the same result "you have dialed a number that is not available in your calling area" I will proceed through my "trial month" and see what if any other clues or ideas pop up. Thanks

"Ooma custmoer service was unable to help, they gave me some business about how certain companies block local access".
It is true that some companies will blacklist anyone that don't have a caller Id or for other reasons? But most often, all you have to do is call the company with your cell phone, contact the "right" person, and have them add your name and number to their list, or what ever they do.

Or it's just a carrier routing issue and you have to get Ooma to take care of the problem.

I dialed 800-926-8232 and got a mesage saying "you have dialed a number that isn't in your calling area".

Maybe someone living in the Oregon area can make a test call to 800-926-8232, from their Ooma phone for Seefyre.
After getting through using Ooma app earlier, I came home and tried calling using 4 different numbers hosted by Ooma. 3 Seattle area numbers and 1 Houston area number; no dice. I even tried using GVE (outgoing callerid is a Seattle area Google Voice number) without success. However, when calling out directly from Google Voice (same number as GVE; call not originating from Ooma but Google Voice) the call goes through to the TrueGreen automated system.

I suspect something is going on similar to when calling 1-800-444-4444.... the MCI system thinks that all Ooma numbers are calling from 786-279-3705. Even when calling from Ooma app (so I am not sure why Ooma app reaches the TrueGreen toll free). Info on this MCI number: viewtopic.php?t=11221

Don't think anyone with Ooma can reach that number. With exception of the Ooma application via iPhone or Android.

Of coarse if you call the (503) 635-3521 number (which goes right through using Ooma), instead of the 800-926-8232, number, it is not a long distance call for the Ooma phone system.

And that is exactly what we did, worked fine. I'm just noting the "unique characteristics" of this system so when we change over fully, we know all the idiosyncrasies. I'm very happy overall.

This is interesting. I think what I would do is to call Trugreen and tell them that your Ooma phone number doen't go through (I would just give them a your phone number, but not say anything about Ooma unless you have to). They may be happy to find out that some of their customers can't contact them, using the 800 Trugreen phone number, and have their phone provider check it out, and maybe even fix, or have the problem fixed.
