Change or disable OOMA dial tones?

Post by Randysea » Thu Feb 02, 2012 11:44 pm

I just installed and activated my OOMA today. I have a problem with the second dial tone and my answering machine. I know a lot of posters think no one should use answering machines, but please accept that I have a good reason to do it.

I have found several threads that say it is possible to disable at least the second OOMA dial tone, the one that sounds when a caller hangs up. They mention a Setup/Advanced page with this option. I cannot find this.

I have gone to My OOMA. I have also connected directly to the OOMA device. The Advanced Settings page there just has a QOS setting block and a call forwarding block.

Can anyone direct me to the settings page for dial tones that has been referred to in this forum?

Thank you.

It does not exist. It is up to your answering machine to determine that the call has been disconnected and stop recording.
My Panasonic does the same thing.
