Been noticing this, myself, too -- long connect times, delay before being heard, plus call 'fluttering' and sudden dead air. :(

Hi Tom.

Very nasty weather and winds here have been wreaking some havoc with our ISP late last night and today. I think they had some issues that might have been causing the upstream speed problem. Not sure what you tweaked, but calls are actually going through as of this evening. Thank you!

I'm having a long delay when outbound calling as well as when someone calls me there seems to be no connection. In most cases I have to call them back. I've had Ooma from the day they opened and this is the first real issue I've had (impressive). Any help would be appreciated.

I have the same problems ... long time to make a call and no one is there when I answer. Any ideas what I can do to fix it?

TomB, I saw my Ooma flashing red and then turning blue shortly after your message to try it. One call was the Sounds of Silence among the 3 which I tried shortly thereafter, but none since so it was likely an outlier. I take it that Ooma created the problems with an inept update which it forced out w/o notice 3 weeks ago and that you corrected it by sending a good update. Thank you, the good Ooma. JS10013

I'm also having similar problems. On incoming calls, I answer but only hear silence. The caller actually goes to voicemail. On outgoing calls it stops ringing after a few rings, but there is silence. After 30-45 seconds we're connected, but then get disconnected after 30 seconds. It doesn't happen on all calls. I'd say it happens at least 50% of the time, if not more. We need reliable phone service. Please help!

pmasline, did you change upstream speed in setup.ooma to 5400?

TomB, No, I did not change the upstream speed to 5400. The last time I looked, I thought it was set to 512 (I think that was the default value). Regardless, I haven't changed the QoS value from the defaults.
