Glows blue then 30 seconds later blinking red
Hi.
I've had Ooma for about 3 years. Recently I've had trouble with it dropping and eventually reconnecting. I replaced my unit and assumed it was bad.
Installed the new one.. same issue... on with Ooma support and they send me yet another unit. Same issue...
Bought the wifi module in hopes that type of connection would work better. Guess what, does the same thing. Steady blue, can make and receive calls. Less than a minute later blinking red. This happens non-stop.
So what is the issue?
Thanks
Jim

I don't know where that came from. The results should look like this:
You have to download and install an app to run the full test.

Re: Glows blue then 30 seconds later blinking red
Well I'm not going to try and troubleshoot the troublshooting tool...
I did make some progress. I took out my old Asus router and hooked it up. The ooma device connects fine. So something has changed on my newer Asus AC68U router. To my knowledge, the only thing that has changed is the firmware.
I attempted to downgrade the firmware but Ooma still cycles as before.
So at the moment, I have my Asus N12D1 router hooked to my cable modem, the ooma hooked to that and my AC68U as my access point for 5gz wifi and connected to the N12D1 via ethernet.
Not sure what has happened and I will research it more. It is odd that I can't find anything on Google about specific issues with Ooma and Asus newer firmware.
Very annoying

Re: Glows blue then 30 seconds later blinking red
I have an RT-68U and no issues with my Ooma. It has firmware 3.0.0.4.384_45717. That is the latest listed on their web site downloads.
Re: Glows blue then 30 seconds later blinking red
What is your internet speed? I noticed my replaced router is only coming in at 100mbps but I normally get 200 mbps with the newer router.
I'm starting to think the ooma device doesnt like anything over 100mpbs... ?

Spec for Asus N12D1 says:
"1 x RJ45 for 10/100 BaseT for WAN, 4 x RJ45 for 10/100 BaseT for LAN"
If you clock a full 100Mbps, count yourself fortunate.

Re: Glows blue then 30 seconds later blinking red
I will do a factory reset on the AC68 and see if that fixes anything... I didnt change any settings so I'm not sure what has happened but worth a shot...
Thanks

The following debug advice is listed on murphy's recommended test page, had you made it that far...
"SIP ALG - SIP Application Layer gateway is a feature in most routers and is supposed to help SIP based calls when going through your home or business router. Unfortunately it causes more harm than good. Make sure the VoIP test indicates N for NO. If it is Y for YES, try and disable it in your router as per our article on disabling SIP ALG."

It's worth looking to see if your router has this setting, as another user on THIS forum recently reported it having caused him problems.
