Can't get call from Google Voice to re-verify number

When I first started using Google Voice (GV) my home phone number was with Frontier, or maybe AT&T. In early 2016 I had it ported to Ooma. GV wants me to re-verify my home number. That's done with an automated phone call that says a number code, which I'd then enter in GV. I never get the call. I have a trouble report going with GV. I even unblocked everything temporarily, Blacklist, Nomorobo, etc. - same. I now immediately get 'Something went wrong...' from GV. The call comes from a 202 area code. Doubt it's something on Ooma's end but thought I'd post it in case anyone else has run into this.
