Voicemail quit working on my Telo box

Post by micallen » Mon Jan 13, 2020 5:05 am

Voicemail quit working on my Telo box about 2 months ago. Press the flashing button. Nothing happens. Yes, I have made sure volume is up.

Also, I bought my 80 Y.O. mom a new Ooma Telo. Installed it yesterday. Works great. Tried to show her how to check her Voice mail, and guess what? The VM button does not work on hers either!

What gives? Need this fixed.

Thanks,

Just dial your own Ooma phone number from any phone connected to the Telo and you will access your voicemail.

If you have an HD3 handset there is a softkey which accesses voicemail by just pressing it.

You can even access your voicemail on the internet at MyOoma.com. You can listen to your messages and completely manage your messages too.

I get... maybe... the older one. But the brand new one? Speaker bad?

My 10 year old Telo is still working fine. The newer one that doesn't have illuminated buttons and only has 6 of them failed late last year. I put in a new speaker and it is working. The speaker that I bought was bigger than the original so I had to perform surgery on the case to make it fit.

Murphy, it is good to hear that your Telo One is still working after 10 years. My Telo One is seven years old. I like the line indicator lights. The Telo Two is a minimalist, dumbed-down version. I have no plans to implement the Ooma security products, so I will not be "upgrading" to a Telo Two unless something happens to the One.

Murphy, where did you get the speaker? Size? Specs?

I used this speaker.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B016V ... UTF8&psc=1

It is a lot larger in diameter than the original and requires trimming two vertical pieces of plastic out of the way to make it fit. It also requires cutting the plug off of the original speaker and soldering it on to the new speaker because the plug on the new speaker is the wrong size. It is not "plug and play". I have it set to sound level 4.

I tried this one first.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07M5 ... UTF8&psc=1

The sound level was way too low . I think it is meant to be used in an earpiece.
