ATT Calls not coming through.

I just have had my 4th person tell me my phone is broken. They call and get an error message that the number is no longer in service. This happens only with ATT cell service so far. I can get around it by adding the number to my contacts. Their numbers used to work but now do not. Any ideas? If they had not come by I would have never known about the problem.

It sounds like you may have call filtering turned on. Are these calls from At&t users coming from the same area code and prefix? (EX: 987-654-XXXX)?

No -- some are from 318 area code and the others from all over the country..I live in 318. Thanks...

Did you port your number from AT&T?

Yes about 3 years ago, and this has been going on for a few months. Before that all calls came through. It is a puzzler as the man who cuts my grass and has for a decade all of a sudden could not get through. A neighbor was before that. And I checked with others who I know used ATT and they all had same issues.. I can work around it by adding them to the contact list. Then their calls work. Just started happening out of the blue and only att. ??? Thanks...

I had a similar problem when I left Vonage in 2009. It was caused by Vonage marking the number I ported away from them as out of service instead of deleting it from their system.

Ask one of the people on AT&T that are having the problem to complain to AT&T that they can't reach a known working number. You can't do it because you are no longer a customer so they will ignore you.
