Municipality location for local incoming calls

Post by LLHawk » Tue Jul 21, 2020 10:29 am

I just recently bought an Ooma and seems to be working nicely. I picked a new phone number that is (902)-709-XXXX. The (902)-709 is a Shelburne Nova Scotia local calling number.
I live in Truro Nova Scotia which is outside of this (902)-709 Shelburne local calling zone. I picked this number because Ooma did not have any Truro numbers left to choose from. The fact my phone is physically located in Truro NS, would my neighbours get charged for long distance as my phone number is of Shelburne not Truro? Or is like a cell phone, where the phone is physically located that is your local free calls zone?
