Naming HD3 phones

Post by cwradio » Wed Dec 16, 2020 10:17 am

How do you change the name in your HD3 phone so the name is displayed in the window of the HD3.
Added name in Dashboard then device, add names to my three HD3 phone (bedroom kitchin, hall). Names do not show on the the screen of HD3.
What is shown in the display HD3 is Handset 1, 2, etc.
Any advice?
Paul

Did you force a sync on the handset?

Also did a sync on all the HD3s
If you check intercom the correct names are there. Paul

I found by powering off / on the Telo the name will show up in the HD3 screens. Paul

Handsets communicate with the Telo about every 10-15 minutes. That's why if you take the batteries out of a handset and then select the devices menu in My Ooma a red dot appears next to the handset if the Telo hasn't heard from it.

Meanwhile, if you make changes in My Ooma the handset doesn't know about them until it's next regular check with the Telo. If you would have just waited the handset name would have updated automatically.
