Numbers in Contacts

Will phone numbers in Contacts always be allowed to ring? I added a valid verification number that provides a code to log into an online system. I've needed to temporarily disable call blocking to allow it to ring through. I could try it again with call blocking enabled, but I may have to wait as I think the verification code will allow access for a while before being required again.
